Currently I am on version 1.3, I realized that last night. First question, what are the significant changes from 1.3 to 1.51. I read the thread on the black chips and doing the download and am looking for them but my LHS (Chicagoland) didn't have them. Does anyone in Chicago have them? Final question does the reception issues that existed in earlier versions get better? I get the red flashing light more often than I care to admit.

Did you read the thread: Free Legacy Black Modules? No need to wait for them, you doubtless have at least a couple of blue modules that you'll never use again.
As I recall, 1.3 was the big update for reception issues. Consider a hi-gain antenna on the base and/or repositioning the base to a more central location.
Doesn't lionel have a module with the 1.5 upgrade allready on it,i know allmost nothing about computers or down loading information i panic when i see that i have to down load things,use this or that cable & all that other stuff that you have to do,not everyone has the ability to do these things they need to keep things simple,not make things harder,just my 2 cents worth.
Lionel has said that sometime after the new year they'll have upgrade modules for 1.51 available. However, you don't really want to be paying for modules for each release when you can upgrade for free, do you? If there is someone local to you with Legacy, you can get them to write the black modules for you.
I WOULD rather pay for the modules each time there was an upgrade,because for me this is the simplest way for me to go, i understand how to put the modules in the base & in the remote, i know i am in the minority,i don't understand all the that computer lingo,i want what is easy for ME i am sure most people won't agree with me but thats ME.
