While looking for plans to build some simple buildings out of wood I stumbled across this reference book on the "Internet Archive" site. The book is interesting and in public domain. I hope you enjoy it.

It's less than 100MB, but for some reason it times out while trying to attach as a pdf file so I'm providing the link to download it as well as a site link.

There's another version at the website location that is also PDF, just not (b/w), which is a little easier to read.  However, you might want both copies because some of the photos and diagrams are easier to read in the (b/w) version.

There are also ePub and Kindle versions at the Internet Archive, which you can read using your favorite book reader app. It is a much more pleasant reading experience than .PDF. The downside is that these formats depend on OCR, so there are lots of transcription errors and strange formatting in the text. The images are very nice, though.
