This forum is such a valuable resource. I have an MTH DD40 that was just collecting dust because it was PS1. I really didn't want to fork out $600.00 plus for a new one. Thanks to this forum I found a solution. I sent my DD40 to GGG and he upgraded it to PS3. It is now in my locomotive line up and it works great!!!

I plan to update my two ps-1 engines to ps-3 in the third quarter of this year if possible
Approximately how much would that conversion cost? I have the MTH Florida East Coast F3' s in PS1.
Cheers,
Sean
Clint,
Glad to hear about your positive experience! Just another great comment about GGG!! I have always appreciated his sound advice here on the Forum!
About $200 for the kit, plus labor (if someone else is doing it for you). Assume another $100-$150.
Sean, it was a little over $300.00 plus shipping. A bargain as far as I am concerned because it now operates just like my new PS3 locomotives. I'll be honest, I don't really know how the conversion is done, but the way GGG explained it to me is that everything is new except for the motors. All of the circuit boards and what not is replaced. Ha! I learned my lesson the hard way not to fool around under the shell of modern locomotives. My old postwar stuff, yep I can fix with no problems, but modern stuff I leave to the pros.
