Someone converted a Bing Swift reefer to a piggy bank/yard office. The litho looked Ok, so I snagged it. Picked up a Bing boxcar junker for the frame and trucks. The frame is not really correct, but I made it work. Added prewar Lionel wheels and couplers and I now have a decent reefer.

Steve! You outbid me on that Swifts reefer car darn it! I'm glad you got it though. I was going to do the same thing and was looking at that Erie car as well. I guess great minds think alike!
I was looking at both of those too, meant to bid on the Bing, but I simply forgot...that's what happens when I'm on midnight shift. Glad you got it Steve.It never dawned on me to combine those too.It looks great.
I'd putt that Erie car on the home made wood frame, make a roof, and have a storage car for the yard!

The boxcar frame has turned up edges and is 1/8 too wide. A correct reefer frame has turned down edges. The tabs do not line up with the slots so some improvising was required. Note on the completed car, the sides were ground down a bit in front of the doors.

Steve, That's all good to know, more information for future use! Looks great in any event. Just means I need to work a bit harder to find those gems!

Not quite, but good. I started IVIG treatments every other week in January and there have been major improvements. The vision is pretty much back to normal, most of the problems swallowing have gone away. Strength is still an issue. Overall a big improvement the past few months.
