A new engine for the Hogwarts Express

Those old Js will handle anything you throw at 'em.

Just for a fun real world comparison, the J had 80,000 lbs of tractive effort, and used 300 PSI steam to push 27" cylinders with a 32" stroke.

The GWR Hall class had 27,275 lbs of tractive effort, and used 225 PSI to push 18.5" cylinders with a 30" stroke.

Looks like it was meant to be!

The Norfolk & Western Class J Northern is by far my favorite engine in both the real world and the world of model trains.  She would have fit right in at Hogwarts.  Here she is circling my Christmas Layout
