Hi Pat I had a question for you about my 785 Hudson.  During the September 50% Off Lionel Parts sale I picked up a Gray Vision Line Backhead and Cab Rear Wall to dress up my 785 a la your backhead install on Gunrunner's Yellow Belly.  Parts of the backhead were bent and of course there were no more in stock, in either gray or black.  I finally worked up enough nerve to attempt to straighten these fragile pieces and luckily got them to an acceptable position without snapping them off.IMG_2542IMG_2544IMG_2678

My remaining question is, as I slide the backhead into the cab it comes in contact with the wire and plug that chooses weather the e-unit functions or is locked in one direction, and will not "seat" properly.  The Banana plug on the black wire plugged into the socket on the fireman's side, E-unit works, if the plug is re-located to the socket on the engineer's side the e-unit is locked into one position.  I was wondering if you had any ideas to get around this issue?  I had e-mailed on Nov 2 at the email in your profile.  I know that has been successful in the past so maybe it went to SPAM, and I am not authorized to Private Message here on the Forum.  Thanks for taking a look.

Coach, …your email must’ve gone to spam or junk,…..anyways, ….can you cut back on that wire, and solder a leader to that solder lug sticking up atop that jack port? It’s essentially doing the same job, just not through the gigantic banana plug,…..that’d be my quick fix,…..a more complex fix would be to pull it apart, and re-route everything so nothing is in the way of the new backhead,…

Pat
