Basically, all I have room for is two loops. Absolutely no room for a turntable or a wye. Tried, but it was really a "no go" from the start.

Manually turning these modern engines around is a nuisance! They are a real handful, what with tethers and the like. I don't do it often.

Signals: You have to commit to a direction the trains will be traveling BEFORE installing them.

Even the smallest oval could have room for a turntable if you really want it. Of course it wouldn't leave room for much else!

Not true on the signals. You can have bi directional signaling. If your signals only have one face, you have to place another on the other side of the tracks.

Are there "two-faced" signals? (Pun accidental!) Somehow, it seems monstrously wrong to have a signal green for downtrack with a train barreling along toward it from uptrack?

I am using z-stuff signals, BTW. No experience with any other.
