Heritage is everything these days. Before the W&LE rolled over the mainline from Mingo Junction, Ohio to Rook yard, in Pittsburgh, Pa, the line belonged to the mighty Pittsburgh & West Virginia. I have recently finished my first steam locomotive for my O Gauge W&LE's heritage steam fleet. The first is an MTH 0-6-0 in P&WV colors. Having just returned from the paint shop, P&WV #21 has received some weathering. Anxious to show off their "Newest" Locomotive, #21 was hooked up to 3 restored Montour hoppers and a Bobber caboose, all part of the O Gauge heritage fleet, and soon set out with a short photo freight. The railfans were ready. With cameras in hand, timeless images were captured from an era long ago on the old "Hi-Line."
