I had to take my daughter up to Clarion and stopped in and saw Dave today at Mercer Junction on the way home.  I brought my friend Nick (Carp) along as he never had been to the store.

As always Dave was great.  The story wasn't super busy but we came in about a half hour before closing.  Carp picked up a nice Weaver PRR boxcar and a MTH PRR caboose.  I got 2 flat cars with trailer in the UP road name.  Carp wants to head up again before the holidays!

Thanks Dave for a great visit.  I'll be up with Carp before the holidays!

This is a funny I am from Clarion and when to Mercer Junction today. I had never been there before. It was a great experience. The store is great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I picked up some trees and landscape material and a C&O bobber caboose. I will for sure be going back again.

I also paid an unplanned visit to The Junction for a couple of hours on Saturday. Needed a bit of an "escape" from other things in life and figured there's no better place to get it than at Dave's store on a fall-like afternoon. On hand was Dave Sr. (Dave's dad), Dave Jr. ("our" Dave), and Dave's son, Noah--three of my favorite people in the entire world. Missing was the lovely Marsha, Dave's better half, who had to be off working while others in the Minarik clan were playing with and talking trains.

I had not planned on dining at the store, but was invited to partake in an excellent variety of Chinese food that Dave had ordered and that was the "frosting on the cake" for a thoroughly enjoyable visit.

As luck would have it, a couple of my preorders had also just arrived, so I came home with my MTH EMD Demo GP20 (very nice) and Woodland Scenics new Depot (also very nice). We gave the Geep a brief run on the store layout and it performed up to expectations.

Great friends and a first-rate train store: Definitely a very fine way to spend a Saturday afternoon or any afternoon!

Welcome to western PA, Jon.  My oldest daughter is a graduate of Grove City. New Wilmington, where Westminster college is located is heavy Amish country.  Do some back roads and enjoy the visit.  Maybe not Vermont, but pretty darn nice.

Hope you enjoyed the trip.
