I bought a FA-1 Powered & Dummy set while on vacation in Florida a couple of years back, knowing I was going to start a "Train HobbY' when I retired. I was so uniformed that I did not know there were any model trains except Lionel "Started Sets" I told person I was looking for Louisville & Nashville, knowing he would not have it, he asked if I wanted TMCC and I quickly said no, . nuf said
Can TMCC be added to a FA-1 ? It is a Williams by Bachmann.

Yes TMCC can be added to the Williams product line. Check out The Electric Railroad Co.'s commander products. Some of ERR's products are listed in the more recent Lionel catalogs. But the ERR website has their full line shown. You can also phone (408) 454-4127 them for guidance to select which products meet your needs.
Yep. Get an ERR cruise commander for them. If you want sound as well, grab a Railsounds commander too. Both are pretty easy to install. I upgraded my Williams 773 NYC Hudson with the ERR Kits and it works great. A diesel should be even easier. If you want electrocouplers on the front of the rear unit you may need to work with some tethers.
