I bought a TIU that was supposed to be new. It did not come with the cable that goes from the AIU to the TIU. Does anyone know what kind of cable this is. Can I use a LAN cable or regular phone cable. Any help would be great. I have sent the seller an email but who knows when they will get back to me.

The AIU cable comes with the AIU, not the TIU. You need an RJ12 6P6C *reversed* (or some other word that means not straight) cable.
I bought following from Amazon and it worked.
InstallerParts RJ12 Modular Telephone Cord Extension- Reverse Wiring, Silver (14FT) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D...cp_tai_csgvEb5EWKVN6
Good luck,

Just recently when I got back into the hobby I discovered I lost my cable as well. Turns out you can look up the pin outs and it is a reversed cable. I built my own using parts I had around the shop. I think I used an eight wire cable and just didn’t use two of the wires. Your reverse the wires and use your telephone connector clamp tool and you can make any length you want.

While I've not tested extreme lengths, years ago it was suggested there could be a limit to how long is OK before the TIU may not be able to properly drive the circuits in remote AIUs (particularly if you daisy chained several, IIRC).
At the time, the concept was just using a 25 foot cable that (at the time) was commonly available at Radio Shack. Using one AIU with such a cable was no problem. Stringing several AIUs with the 25 foot cable on each one was cautioned by several extremely DCS savvy people, I believe.
Something to be possibly aware of, depending on what length someone may "want".

Thanks all. I ordered one.
Someone on the O Gauge Forum recommended this place. It’s the corrected switched 6 wire for between the TIU and AIU. I just ordered a 14 ft. The link I added was for the 7 ft. cable. My 14 ft cable was only .99 cents. The 7 ft. is even cheaper. I wanted to make sure I had enough length.

I have 5 AIU's daisy chained using 15' cables between and have had no problem with signal strength.
