A couple of years ago my wife and I had the privilege of attending a Bar-B-Q that Alan had for the members of the Mid America 3-Railers. Alan and his wife Lakeeta are very gracious host. If you have an opportunity to visit with Alan and Lakeeta, Do so as you will not be disappointed.
Along with all the photos, I also took a some video of the layout in operation. The video's give a better perspective of the layout than the pictures do. However this is a layout that needs to be seen in person to appreciate the amount of work that has gone into it. It is "awesome"
Robert
Alan, what building is that, which looks like the old Grand Central Depot?
Fantastic!!!!!
Peter
Thanks Robert for posting those videos! There have been a LOT of changes since Robert took those.
Robert...come visit and take new ones!!
Thanks,
Alan
George....are you talking about the train station next to and just above the train shed?
Alan
Fabulous layout and video. I just hope Petula's attorney doesn't send you a bill.
David
Incredible layout !!!
Kudos to the Master, Alan !
I posted this a while back, I'm glad it's back. It's a great layout and video. Way to go
Alan!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Alex
Alan, it's truly a work of ART. I think I really know who Alan is just looking at his work, his passion, his love, a place for every thing and every thing in it's place. Just BEAUTIFUL. Thank you.
That's A LOT of layout......
and a LOT of engines

Breathtaking video - Awesome layout!
George....are you talking about the train station next to and just above the train shed?
Alan
Correct.
Alan will be a very informative and excellent guest for the Pod 6 Broadcast. Lot's to learn from this legend in O-Gauge.
Very nice layout and videos, thanks guys.
Outstanding layout and perfect soundtrack to go along with it, Alan. Great job!
George.....funny you should mention that the station looks like the old Grand Central Depot because I was going after that kind of look!!...so I you just made me feel good about how it turned out...THANKS! That station is a kitbash of 8 Disney Main Street Station kits. These are still available if you look for them...you can start with ebay. I was lucky enough to purchase most of mine before they got crazy price wise. They are no longer produced and there seems to be a big demand.
Thanks again guys!
Alan
Hey, leavingtracks, what's your best estimate, or precise number if you know, of photos, included in the video?
Holy Smokes!!! That is ALOT of Locomotives parked together.... How do you get them out and running, with so many that are nose to tail? And on that note, just curious, how many locomotives do you have?
Carl....I believed I used around 90 or 95 pictures in the slide show. Interesting question..makes me think you may have counted them?
James....the diesel service area has two transfer tables that are able to shuttle around the various motive power that are on the service tracks. Makes for some interesting manuvers!
Thanks,
Alan

Alan,
I was actually referring to your yard track with locos nose to tail. Where the UP Steam Power is located. How do you shuffle all those locos around? And how many locos do you have stuck there?
WOW! that's all I can say.
James....AH...you must be referring to the track that is serviced by the "ol' O-5-O".
As far as how many locomotives I had there when those pictures were taken, I am not sure. One would have to look at the video again and count them. I have way too much motive power and rolling stock that is for sure!
Alan
Hey Alan, I don't how I missed this thread! I have followed your talent on your posts and it just blows me away. Your layout is awesome and packed with fantastic design and detail. I got to thinking about my recent attempts at remodeling and I started chuckling. You might recall "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". In one scene, Roy Neary has completed in exact and exquisite detail a scale replica of Devils Tower in Wyoming, ironically on top of his former HO layout located in the living room. In contrast, in a previous scene, Roy is at the dinner table trying to figure out what design is burning in his mind and with fork in hand starts modeling the Devil's Tower in the mashed potatoes. I will never reach your or others modeling success. I am just happy to see your results, admire your talent, and work on my mashed potatoes. Pass the gravy please.
That's a beautiful layout! I absolutely love it!!!
The city is amazing!!!
Pennsynut....wow, thank you so much....what a nice comment. I am sure that your "mashed potatoes" are as good as any one's. I assure you that the layout looks better in photos than it does in person...
