Alco DL 109's Bay State & Scratchbuilt vintage O scale

It's amazing how much effort people expended in building a model they otherwise could not obtain. It says a lot about a person's ambition and patience. Very few (if any) of today's O gauge model railroaders would attempt such a project. Who made it and when was it made?

I've done a few in G scale because there just aren't many modern diesel choices. It can cost a lot more than a RTR model. It takes a lot of effort. Then, you can't help looking at the less than perfect parts instead of what you've accomplished. To make it worse, I never finished all the details (close enough! )

Nice stuff.  Everybody seems to favor the Alco PAs but my favorite vintage diesel is the DL109.  The best renditions of this model IMO are the ones made by Overland.  They did the research and captured the differences between ATSF, NH and GM&O.

That scratchbuilt model is really impressive - its proportions and detailing are well executed. What sort of drive is under the hood?
