Hi,

I just came across this Image of the AMERICAN FLYER MINUTEMAN SET - Really a Good Looking Locomotive ! - Pre War - Wide Gauge.

I think that the LIONEL 390E has the most prototypical looking Smokebox Front of the LIONEL Wide Gauge Locos.

I am not considering the Entire Locomotive when saying this.

I am just comparing the Smokebox Front of the various LIONEL Wide Gauge Locos.

There certainly was a lot of different Numbered LIONEL Wide Gauge Locos !

I have a DIY restored 390E, a Lionel Classics 390E and a MTH 390E, they are all nice.

But I like the hidden bulb inside the smoke box rather than having a giant bulb in-front.

The bulb is also easily broken in handling and shipping if not removed.
