I want to change the lighting in my American Models woodside caboose. I removed the four screws that attach the body to the chassis but it does not separate, has anybody on the forum taken one of these apart? What might I be missing in attempting to disassemble the caboose?

I think the roof comes off .

Once you remove the four corner screws, the one piece roof and window casting tends to be a very tight fit. I've had to use a razor blade between the roof and body to slowly rock the roof off.
The underframe is held on by the truck screws, which run trough the weight and light board and there are nuts on the inside holding the board down on the truck screws.

Here's what the roof looks like removed:
The cut and brace is because this casting was slightly warped. First time I ever ran across a warped roof from AM.

Thanks again for the tips on getting this apart. When I got inside and found the two amber LEDs and saw their brightness and instead of replacing them l just added some aluminum tape to the inside top of the window material and gained some illumination that way.
