Never heard of the original ASCC but IF any of you guys hear that it will be reactivated, please post same on this forum.  I think that it would be interesting to build a few cars that might not be from the same extruding dies or plastic injection molds of the Big 4 (Only three remain)  Would give variety to some of my passenger trains.

ASCC, along with Walther's two versions, long and short C&NW cars, was the second of two makers of O scale kits of gas electric cars that I am aware of.  While Walther's had a chain drive power truck for theirs, I am not aware that any power was provided or recommended for the ASCC gas electrics.  (Walther's made a third version in HO, of a GM&O gas electric, but I don't think that was offered in the O scale version?)  I had thought the 1940 VandenBoom catalog showed a third O scale kit maker, but it just shows the HO and O Walther's C&NW kits.

thanks saw one on ebay phil delhi new york

The recommended drive was a NWSL Magic Carpet drive with sideframes from Q-Car.

I think the ALCC owner said he was having trouble getting someone to do some part masters for him, that was maybe 2 years ago.

He was looking for help on doing the castings for the detail parts.  I sent him an offer of help and got no response.

Seems like another guy that thought big and found out how hard it is to produce kits.

Oh, yeah..now I remember...I went to NWSL for their Magic Carpet and got

sneered at for wanting to use it in 3 rail and rectify it, so I modified a Bowser

streetcar truck to power my ASCC gas electric, which model I think I showed on here some months ago. That car has been finished for several years, before MTH ever came out with their gas electric.  Haven't tried to get anything from NWSL since.  Would like a decent source for power trucks, though, as I have Walther's gas electric kit to build yet.
