Been attending for the last 25 years. Very large show. Takes an entire day to take it in. All modeling scales are represented as well as many historical society’s from the north east area. Numerous operating layouts. Not an abundance of 3 rail but enough for me. If you are constructing or detailing a layout. You will find everything you need there. Things you just don’t find at other shows. Many of the small cottage type manufactures are there.

This is a very large show that typically draws more than 20,000 visitors over its two day weekend run. All aspects of model railroading are represented although HO and N are more prevalent than O gauge. I've been attending both days of every show since 1997. A lot of New England organizations and model railroads to be seen. I look forward to it every year.

A great show, I highly recommend it! Amherst in my opinion is one of the top Train shows in the USA. It’s housed in several large buildings close to each other on the Big E fairgrounds in Springfield, MA. There are dozens of operating layouts from N- To G and some 3 rail O. Tons to see and a great show to get deals at. Fun for the whole family- well if they are into trains. The only fly in the ointment is that it’s held in late January and one winter my normal 2 hour drive from New Hampshire was doubled and very slow due to a fairly good snow storm but I still went!
