A TIU channel wired other than passively can accommodate a maximum of 10 amps.
The DCS system puts out whatever voltage you instruct it to put out on each channel. Typically, you would choose to use 18 volts.
How much reduction in voltage you would have at the engine due to voltage loss is a function of several factors, including:
- Wire gauge
- Wire length
- Length of track blocks
- Tightness of track connections
- Dirt or rust in track rails, or engine wheels and pickup rollers.
