I got stranded on 507 southbound at Tacoma due to this accident, had gone through the site of this derailment this morning on 502. We sat in the depot for over 2 hours and they hadn't even formulated a plan on how to get us out of there. We called a friend and she gave us a ride home.
Wasn't a good day to ride, as the northbound was delayed an hour and we got I to Seattle a half hour late...
This is 507 trapped in Tacoma. No idea if it ever got out of there...

That's one pretty cool bridge! Thanks Lee!

Gary and David, Thanks for the video and Picture! Look like I am going to have to make a road trip! Only about 2 hours away!
They sure got the train out of there pretty fast, as this was already done by this morning:
This morning, I called Amtrak customer service and got a full refund of the portion of our tickets from Tacoma to Centralia (as there was no way we were getting back on Amtrak's dome until very late that night). It wasn’t much money, though, but it was the right thing for them to do and they didn't balk at all. They offered to give me a $100 certificate for an Amtrak ticket in the future but I don't see us riding Amtrak for a while, regardless of our experience yesterday.
FYI, I remember having an evening shot I took of this bridge here:

Crews put a derailed Amtrak locomotive back on the tracks Monday, July 3, 2017, in Steilacoom next to the bridge over Chambers Creek, Wash. There were only minor injuries when the locomotive and baggage car of the Amtrak Cascades train carrying 267 passengers derailed on Sunday.
Amtrak got its passenger trains running along the Washington and Oregon coast Monday as investigators tried to determine why two cars went off the tracks a day earlier. Passengers suffered only minor injuries when the locomotive and baggage car of the Amtrak Cascades train carrying 267 passengers derailed in Steilacoom, a town about 45 miles (73 kilometers) south of Seattle.
Amtrak was operating the line but with restricted speeds, so some delays were expected on the route between Vancouver, Canada, and Eugene-Springfield, Oregon, spokeswoman Vernae Graham said.
The train that derailed was moved off the tracks during the investigation, but all the cars were put back by Monday morning, officials said. Crews also replaced the rails that were damaged during the derailment, said Gus Melonas, spokesman for BNSF Railroad, which owns the tracks.
