Amtrak Hhp-8 set 631779 Pantograph need Replacement

Hey Bob,

I just remade one of these pans out of parts from broken Acela pans.

What is broken on yours?

I have one of the upper members with the pickup, that I replaced with the Acela part.

Hey Choo Choo, I actually ordered the Acela pantograph replacement on accident and it’s just the top rail.

Is the spring still on the cross pin?

Can you press the small cross pin out of the assembly?

I would trade the Acela pan for the part I have in stock.

Needs spring but have brand new Acela pantograph cost me $40 but it’s not what i need. 

I'd call Lionel.  I know I needed a shell for a Train Master, and of course it wasn't listed as available.  Turns out, they had a shelf full of "scrap" shells.  Their "scrap" was way better than what I had, it only had one very small blemish on it, easily fixed.  Many times you can get a part such as this that isn't listed on the site.

How is the Acela working?

I borrowed a Cab1 to test 2 cars and both pantographs and doors opened on the cars I did test.
