First I want to thank the Menards 'team' for the great RR hobby items that they have produced. I certainly appreciate all of them and of course appreciate that they are in stock and can be ordered when they are announced!

I had a thought today- since Menards sells both Railroad Rolling stock and die-cast vehicles, would it be possible to combine the two into a Railroad Work Truck die-cast?

There are many types that the Railroads use, but at least in this area, the 'signal maintenance' type seems to be quite common.

Such a truck probably wouldn't be powered but it would be a huge bonus if it could be. Heck a battery powered constant speed (slow) version might be nice.

I'd be interested to hear the comments of other RR modelers on this idea...

I'd love to see a scale (1/43) 50's F-100 with rail wheels fitted on it instead of regular road wheels. But gauged for o gauge track, the greenlight DeLorean with the train wheels is off by (I think) over a centimeter. Doesn't even have to be motorized, just able to roll on a layout.

Like the wheels on this Caddy:

And actually, a Cadillac like this would make a really great looking inspection car.
