p.20 of the manual [Version 1.3] has VELOCITY THROTTLE DIESEL RPM CONTROL. How do I make this work? When I rotate the red knob, all I get is 'the usual' change in speed....whether it's set to"auto mode" or not. Also, the diagram shown does NOT show up on my screen....

First off what kind of engine are you using? Is it a Legacy? This function works very well for Legacy engines and you will only get the segmented display when using a Legacy engine.
It will work on TMCC w/o the display but isn't a good at it.
Yes; Legacy. I have the UP Genset, the WP 918 F7, and a SFe GP 9.
I'd consider upgrading to 1.52 in any case. I don't even have the 1.3 manual anymore...

You can download the update from the http://www.lionel.com/GettingS...egacy/legacyHome.cfm and also the LSU program. All you need in addition is a writable black module.

The upgrade has nothing to do with the Velocity RPM Control so it's not imperative that you do the upgrade to solve that issue. You can order one or make one out of blue modules you no longer use.

You'll need to run a Windows emulator to load your Legacy update using a Mac, the LSU only runs under Windows.
