Featured a gentleman who brought in a 1890's Pullman Lounge Car made in Germany, larger than Lionel standard gauge. It was one of a kind, display piece on a wooden base (no plaque), car sitting on 2 rail track. Highly detailed inside and out. The top came off to show off a luxury interior, complete with real tapestry carpeting, swiveling chair, complete bathroom, chandeliers , luxury to the 9's. Absolutely stunning.
It was from an estate sale and he paid $800.00 for it some ago.
It was appraised at $15,000 auction highly desireable. The expert appraiser seemed like he was ready to drop down cash on the spot for it (thpugh they cant) , just a beautiful piece of toy train memorabilia .
My guess it was made for Pullman to give to a prospective buyer to show their quality, still amazing 130 years later.
