It would be great to have one or more autumn theme layouts to feature in our October/November issue of the magazine. That just happens to be my favorite season of the year, and it is the season that will eventually dominate on my new home layout. If you happen to have (or are working on) a nice fall-theme layout that you might like to see featured in OGR, and make a bit of $ for your effort, please send me an email and attach a photo or two so I will have some idea of what you might be proposing. Welcoming all 3-rail, 2-rail, and O scale narrow gauge submissions.

My future layout will also be set in Autumn, so this issue will be a keeper for sure as inspiration!
Well, l wish l could provide one and hope many can, as a fall ride behind steam on half the Cumbres & Toltec through screaming yellow fall aspens was hog heaven. I am working, very slowly, toward that goal, modeling Colorado aspens. Too bad the two, two foot rides in Maine don't roll through birches (Portland waterfront one does not, don't remember birches at other), but New England birches in Fall, are not a bad substitute, nor are those in the Mich. UP. (Don't remember seeing a MUP themed three rail layout but would like to see one based on those regional roads). Different is good.
I am working on a small layout that has a halloween theme, does that count
I recommend the layouts of Patrick (Trumptrain), and Phil Klopp (the Horseshoe Curve in autumn colors).
Locally there is a gorgeous one...in HO scale, unfortunately.
Sadly, the owner has been in discussions with local folks seeking assistance in tearing it down....health reasons. In fact, it may already be too late!
I agree with you, though, on its special seasonal value. Whether portraying the flaming golden aspens amidst the conifers in the Rockies, or the red-orange maples, et al, on the slopes of New England or Appalachia, it can be breathtaking on layout. The trees, alone, when well done can easily be the stars of the show.
Good luck in your search. Looking forward to publication of the results!

Enclosed are some photos of my Mountain draped in Autumn colors and with and without my Hot Air Balloon floating by my scratch built Watermill on a nice crisp Autumn day on my O Gauge layout.
