It is a nice show.  Lots of O and HO and S with a bit of other gauges thrown in.  Lots of modern and Postwar.  And a wide variety of other things (die cast cars, Plasticville, tools, some scenery supllies, etc.).  There are a number of layouts - usually N, HO and O, but this past November included Lego ones, as well.

 

My club, the Pittsburgh Independent Hi-Railers will be set up and running our O gauge layout.

The show promoters have been trying to crack down on this.  Parking has always been an issue with this show, but they do have designated overflow parking areas and a shuttle bus to make things a little easier.

 

And he is right, do not park in the lots of other area businesses - they are serious about towing, and they actively watch their lots when there are events going on at the convention center.

   The show is usually pretty darn good, lots of different vendors and lots of stuff to see.  Usually a lot of train stuff on sale including RTR sets at more than reasonable prices. A good place to pick up all kinds of trains and transformers. 

The parking sense the train show is now in the new location and allowing vendors & train clubs to park close up to the building, instead of using the parking lot space for paying customers, is now definitely inadequate, especially in the main lot.  If you live in the area the best thing to do is have someone drop you off and then pick you up at a planned time.  Or go extremely early to get a parking spot close up.  The surrounding business with their towing practices are now a serious detriment to

to the convention center and its different events.  In reality the Monroeville Convention Center is not large enough to hold trains shows or guns shows without

bussing people into the center from parking outside its own property.  I am waiting for the other businesses to start charging Convention Center customers for parking on their property, the towing practices are giving the other business a really bad name.

In Andy's bottom left photo you will see my club to the left of his--the Pittsburgh S Gaugers.  Depending on who is available for set-up etc. we frequently have a hi-rail continuous run layout as well as a scale switching layout.

 

Lots of stuff at the show, but after a couple of years it's almost (but not quite) the same old same old.
