any CN modelers here?

Rapido is coming out with a new C40-8CM HO model in Canadian National and BC Rail. You may want to check the out. I saw some articles on them and they look good.    

I live near the GTW tracks operated by the CN Railway.

The CN and BCOL GE built C40-8M diesels have been operated through Michigan on trains that are headed to and from Canada over the past 10 years.

Someone also posted about the GE units on a G scale forum for me. I don't think I paid enough attention before to realize they were GE's.

I thought all the cowl units were EMD's.

Joe, Model Railroad News Vol. 22, Issue 5, May 2016 has an in depth article about the Rapido Trains pre- production model. CN presently runs 81 Dash 8-40CM units including the 26 units that came from the BC Rail fleet.

Now, I'm leaning towards the GE model. I like modern the most. There are several diesels that command attention though. With the big numbers of the second gen EMD's, they're hard to ignore. So I keep waffling between the GE -8 and the SD60F.

Because of the # of MTH G scale -8s that I have, it would seem much easier to make the GE. I'll have to study everything before deciding or just make both.

I wonder if MTH ever considered making the GE version in G?

Hey Joe just my view but the G.E.s have a little more eye appeal for me especially the BC Rail ones. The bell above the windshields looks cool.

I have a custom made cab stashed away. I'll have to check it's dimensions. Might save a step?
