MTH announced today that the 400e in several liveries are set to be released in Dec 2025. The Red 400e is my favorite of the bunch! Excited to see the special runs as well!

Great news!
The good: traditional paint schemes (no rainbows) and nice to see that MTH will be doing more tinplate. The not so good is that I was hoping to see something that hasn't been made a million times already.
Yes please!
I don't own any standard gauge but this would be it! Super excited.
I’m in to deep on o gauge I couldn’t but they are beautiful!🥹
Great news!
What country will be building and exporting them to us?
I'll have to bite the bullet on this and get one. It could be another 10-15 years till they reissue. IMO
Love these. Where is the BlueComet?

I would treat everything from MTH as being the final run unless someone else buys the company. In 10-15 years, Mike Wolf will be pushing 80.
I agree with the blue comet. That's what I really want
What do people prefer more? Contemporary (with PS3) or Traditional control systems in their 400E's?

Protosound, almost certainly, but personally I prefer traditional.
PD
I will order the Proto sound but traditional color.
I would prefer PS3.0.

I will have to disagree with you on this. Now that Mike has hired his son-in-law, MTH could go on through another generation.

Blue Comet and other variations could come soon as a custom run from the train shops and clubs. Have patience.
Mr. Muffins has the new 400e’s on their website to preorder for $1070.99

Did not know that. Good to hear. Hope that his son loves tinplate as much as he does.

That's a tough call.
If the traditional version had a bild-a-loco motor with smoke and a whistle (I know those weren't features back in the day), I'd jump on it. But I'm assuming that's not the case, so I would opt for PS3.

Sounds like Picasso might have a plan, better start saving my money. Get it, Stu!
Yippie!!!!!
I am a very happy camper!!!
Gonna get the Black, Red and Gunmetal. And will look forward for the passenger cars to follow in the spring!!! For all three
Noticed in the photos that the paint is a dull/matte finish. I hope that was just for photography purposes, as the gloss might be a little tough to photograph. Please don't produce them in the dull/matte finish like when Lionel tried the Prewar Celebration Series. It didn't do well because of that.
If anyone has some additional insight into the paint finish, please post!!
Hey Stu - All in PS 3. METCA considering a custom run?????

They'll have the whistle...but a puffing smoke unit would be great and probably make me go for the traditional version.
