The little 2-4-4T Forneys built by Brooks were the motive power on the Yonkers Getty Square Branch from 1912 to 1926 when the line was electrified.
Seems odd that there's no pictures of these floating out between Buffalo and Niagara Falls. I thought maybe looking up Schenectady, but that didn't bring these engines up either. Only thing that managed to come up with them Alco built them.
I'd be in for one of these little guys. Sadly, as we've been told repeatedly, it costs almost as much to produce a small engine as it does a large one. This could be an expensive little engine...
Probably a good start for a scratch built would be these dead A5 chassis I have,….could build up from there,…..does one exist in brass?…

@Strap Hanger posted:I’ve always wanted an old Forney engine to pull some cars on my elevated line. Although this little 2-4-4T probably didn’t haul any passengers on the El, it looks close enough, since it is a successor model to the Forney. If Lionel built it and didn’t gouge on pricing, I’d definitely be in for one.
Agree with every thing Strap Hanger said for the same reasons.
