This year it seems the Wegmans Lionel train display is non-existent here in PA compared to prior years.  Just a small shelf with about a dozen boxes of the following rolling stock:

6-25974 tanker
6-25975 boxcar
6-25976 TOFC

All priced at $49.99

Most of the other train products in the store I frequent is by a company called Lemax.  Smaller than O-gauge.  Two rail decorative stuff. Not sure if it's even powered... perhaps just for display?

I guess Wegmans was looking for a change this year.

I saw a new Lionel Pennsylvania  Train set with Remote  in Geneva NY Wegmans Sunday for $199.99. I'll get the box number and post it with more information on it. They only had 1 new set on display in the general merchandise area and 2 sets from 2012, yes 2012, not a misprint discounted $20.00 from $199.99 to $179.99. Did see caboose & couple other rolling stock for $49.99 & 4 pack 10 inch Fastrack for $24.99 (overpriced! )

I did a search & saw nothing recent, so I'll ask now.  Any Wegman's followers see anything from Lionel popping up in their local store's Christmas Section yet?  If there will be Lionel products at Wegman's for 2014, I would assume they would be there by now... or very soon!

Update from my earlier post with more information now. I was in Geneva NY Wegmans ( upstate NY between Rochester & Syracuse) tonight. The new Wegmans Train Set is "Lionel Lionchief Pennsylvania Flyer Ready to Run O Gauge Remote Train Set". Lionel #6-30233  - 40" x 60" Fastrack with #421 0-8-0 Steam Engine,  Pennsylvania name on tender, boxcar, & caboose. Pennsylvania Salt name on silver tank car. Lionchief Remote Included with wall power pack. Price is $199.99. As I also reported earlier they have 2 of the 2012 sets #6-30203 for $179.99 (discounted $20.00). They have as separate rolling stock the red caboose,  wegmans veggie boxcar,  & wegmans yum & skinny flat car w/trailer for $49.99 each. I think these are all leftovers from last year along with Fastrack 4 pack 10" straight track for #24.99 (overpriced).

Check this out below!

New this year I believe are 2 Wegmans Lighted Porcelain Buildings, Wegmans Store is $29.99 & Wegmans Organic Farm Barn is $34.99, both are listed as sale prices above $15.00 off until 12/24. These are nice looking on the pictures on the boxes but unfortunately they don't have them displayed out of the boxes to see how nicely detailed they really are. For forum members & guests who haven't heard of Wegmans Food Markets they are a East Coast grocery store chain based out of Rochester, NY with approximately 90 stores from Virginia to Massachusetts rated on the Fortune 500 Top 100 companies the last 17 years.

You could go to www.wegmans.com & use the store locater,   call a store and ask for General Merchandise dept if you're not near a store to see if you can buy something and have it shipped to you.
More information.  You can see the 2 wegmans store & organic farm barn porcelain buildings on www.wegmans.com by typing in porcelain buildings  on search. If you type in lionel trains or wegmans lionel trains on search you get nothing, if you type in trains on search it doesn't have the new train set on it, it just shows you the 2012 train set, just checked their web site.

The Wegmans store in Montgomeryville (North Wales), PA now has a Lionel train set #6-30233 with Lionchief remote, priced at $199.99.  (See Gary's post above for details on the set contents.)  Still no running train loop around the tree or add-on Fastrack pieces as in other years.  But at least they have a boxed Lionel train set now.

The 2 porcelain buildings mentioned above have also made an appearance.

We don't have a Wegman's anywhere near us in the Greater Cleveland area.  But when we visit our Daughter and Grandkids living in VA not far from Dulles Airport, I make sure that we make at least one visit to the Wegman's near them.  Great store where you can not only buy food for your breakfast but also the utensils to cook it in and even the kitchen table where you can eat it.  Never knew you could also buy a train to run for the kids, too.

Are you referring to a display set up special for Christmas?  Or the regular G-Gauge train that's always running year-round?

Here in Bucks and Montgomery counties in PA (southeastern part of the state), the Lionel train inventory for Christmas train items is a mere fraction of what is was the last few years.  Trains were definitely not a priority this year.  And what little rolling stock (3 SKU's) is on display is priced at $49.99/car, which is pretty expensive considering the trucks are just regular plastic -- not die-cast sprung trucks.

The Wegman's set I saw displayed may have been a carryover from last year.  The display appeared to be an afterthought..just a circle of track with the locomotive and cars haphazardly displayed.  For example, a boxcar in back of the locomotive, tender in front of the locomotive.  Some of the cars were not even on the track.Originally Posted by Rocky Mountaineer:

I work for a Wegmans where I live.  There are LionelChief Pennsy Flyers being sold on the shelf.  However, no Wegmans cars yet.

I have a hunch that they are going to sell the cars during the week before OR the week of Christmas.  That is similar to what they did last year.

Best to keep your eyes peeled, guys.

The Pennsylvania branded Lionchief Set seems to be the only new train item being sold at Wegmans this year besides the Wegmans Organic Farm building.  The single train rolling stock cars seem to be leftovers from last year as well if they have the Wegmans branded train set, that set is leftover from 2012, it's dated right on the box at the Geneva,  NY Wegmans store.
