Although there production has slowed noteably they still seem to sell out everything they bring in, if you don't reserve it lots of luck trying to get it later. Theres no question a few years back this stuff was probably being overproduced, as a result a lot of the older product goes cheap at the meets or on Ebay. MTHs premier line seems to be going in the same direction.

"I have never paid $70 for a new Atlas O car and I have nearly a thousand of them. Now I have paid quite a bit over $70 for an Atlas O car I missed the first time."

Impressive...but, probably, none of us pay full retail...until we miss a car we want.  All you have to do is purchase from AMHobbies and you'll be taken care of.

However, without doing a "study," I am sure that the higher the MSRP goes...the higher the "less than MSRP price" climbs.

Clearly an example of why this is a "rich man's hobby."  I realize "rich" is a relative term...blah, blah, blah...so, no lectures please.

A thousand... whew. Give me a minute while I mop my head.

I just bought the WM Port of Baltimore Hopper off the Bay for a princely sum of 86 dollars all done. Been hunting that rascal. I am not sure if I want to continue the hunt for other road numbers like it at that sum. I have been accumulating Montour Cars though. One of the connections is near there in my railroad world.

Remind me to keep a warchest ready for any future discoveries. Atlas is the brand I buy at my Train Store when specials are run on pricing.

I have a feeling that Atlas will be releasing some Cornerstone Buildings such as the Walthers Mine. If they do, I will be making room for it along with the Gas Works etc. But man, since the pricing for Oil and other considerations the asking prices are quite... why complain. Sorry.

They do have a few O gauge announcements on their O Scale site. However I stalk Ebay and occasionally snatch one once in a while. I had to turn my WM Boxcar into a yard office after the flimsy ladders quit. That made me feel somewhat better.

I have not  yet made a decision which way I am going, two rail or three. Kadee or lobster. I will work that out as we going along.

LOL. You clever Muffin.

I guess it's all in what your willing to pay and what you think is important to you.
I just got my usual Walthers flyer today.
HO passenger cars from Bachmann,Atlas and Walthers 70 bucks a car.
rolling stock from 20 bucks to almost 60 bucks a car.
Like Mr.M said you can find it cheaper but it's  a simple concept. It's every train manufactures job to get as much money out of you as they think they possibly can.
It's your job to see that they don't. Simple

Not to sidetrack topic, I have been enjoying some of the Premier offerings lately. Makes me wonder if Lionel will spool up to speed as well. I hope they will.
