Yes, I have two videos on youtube. One with both new NS units lashed up and the other each lashed up with a heritage unit. The initial start up sequence is the same and like the past es44's the engine sound shuts down and restarts when sitting idle after 90 seconds. The horn is the same as last years run.

Thanks Zac,

Good demonstration with informative narration.  However, I do think you have a smoke problem; you'll never meet EPA regulations.

Since you compare it against the FEC along the coast, do you feel Lionel should do a sound file upgrade?  Seems that concern is getting a lot of attention right now.

I didn't know about your channel, but I'll be signing up.

I often wondered why Lionel never had the extended startup sounds on their modern diesels.  Also why the horn was changed from the NS Herritage ES44's to the last 2 runs of ES44's?  IMO the horn on the NS Heritage is much better and sounds closer to the real thing.  I'm curious as to what was the reasoning for the change.

The sounds dont really bother me. I think Lionel did a good job on these engines. I was just not very happy with the price increase.

I did look up some pictures of the real FEC #802. The model is close, but you can see some differences. But not that big of a deal to me.

I really wanted to get the Santa Fe Warbonnet as well.
