I see that America's Best Train and Toy shop in Itasca Illinois has something I have been looking for.
How was your buying experience with them?
Any advice would be appreciated before I make the purchase.

I purchased an item from them about a year ago. It was an item that was difficult to find at the time. I recall the person checked inventory to verify he had the item while we were on the phone. The engine was packed well and arrived about a week later.

They are one of my LHSs and very good to deal with. They are very knowledgeable and very helpful with a large inventory.
Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly bunch of guys. I stopped in the store while on business in Chicago. I would call to verify they actually have what you are looking for before placing the order.
I was in there today. The two counter guys Tim and Howie are the best!!

I've purchased many items from them with no problems. Great selection of Lionel Trains, buildings and accessories.

During my travels I have not come across a store with better Lionel inventory then Americas Best. This is one store that is way MORE then the web site would indicate. Very lucky to have them so close.
However, they are not just a train store, but also modeling, slot cars, and kids toys.

Definitely would give them two thumbs up! I purchased a few PS-4 flatcars with piggybacks... Also a StationSounds diner I was having difficulty locating at the time.

Best train store in the midwest in my opinion. Unbelievable inventory of Lionel
along with everything you could ever need for layout building and detailing.
