I recently picked up some Bondic pens for use in my trains.

Has anyone used them before?

Bondic pens are a liquid, UV cure epoxy dispenser on one end, and a UV LED light source on the other. They have been developed for commercial use by a Dentist who had been using the system for dental work for a while, and from what I understand, decided to make a general use version for public use that didn't require the sterile conditions or equipment, like a dental office.

The major benefit that I see over super glue type adhesive is the ability to set in position and adjust as needed, then snap cure with the light.

Hi Mario,

I picked up one at Walmart that was on sale, just to give it a try. I have used it on fixing broken rolling stock, filling gaps, heck even fixed a few things for the wife. I think it's great, the only problem it it sure seams to go fast and refills are $4.99 each. But then again that is about the price of good super glue and it does give you time to set things in place before you activate it with the UV light.

I would recommend it to anyone in the model hobby!

You can usually finder cheaper alternatives to the "As Seen On TV" brand if you look around.

CR Laurence brand UV Adhesive can be had in a 30g bottle for about $20 - $25.  Per gram that's half the cost of the Bondic brand refills.

Other alternatives as seen on tv type kits are Lazer Bond, 5 second fix, Super Power, RapidFix...  I've seen most of these available in Walmart, Home Depot, Amazon, Walgreens...
