Listing says it includes the remote and command base - no mention of the power supply. Suggest that anyone who is interested contact the auction to find out if this is included and bid accordingly.
Power supply is usually not included. This is the command base and the remote in a set.

You missed the last couple of recent topics where people were searching for the special wart wart power supplies needed for proper operation of TMCC and Legacy base units. So yes, that was a fair and valid question to ask.

Although the components could (past tense) be purchased individually, every TMCC "set" originally came with a power supply, as it's a specialized item - you can't just use any old wall wart. I happen to have that particular set, purchased new, and it included a power supply. If the buyer is expecting a complete set and the power supply isn't there, they will be very unhappy. It's unfortunate that Lionel did not show or mention the power supply on their packaging.

Thanks, I guess I did miss that part. I got one of these new, a few years back without a power supply. I have 2 individual loops, each powered with a Lionel CW80. I connected the outer rails on each loop to the command base, purchased an additional remote, and have had no problems since.

If you didn't get a power supply with it how do you power the command base?
Mike

When these came new from Lionel. The wall wart was included. The base is useless without the walwart.
One could surmise why some wall warts disappeared over time.
You say you bought one new " a few years back". There's always the possibility that the walwart was removed from the box to replace a damaged one or whatever.
Tmcc cab1s have probably been out of regular production for over a decade.
Well, I have the same thing that's in Gary's link to the auction. 1 box with the command base and 1 remote only. I plugged the base power cord into the wall, then each of the loops is connected to the track "U" terminal. Each loop is powered by its own CW80. I purchased an additional remote and both loops have been running fine for years.

For clarification, it just occurred to me that mine is the newer Cab1L and Base1L. I got them confused with the older TMCC Cab1s and bases which evidently required wall wart power supplies. Getting old, you know. My apologies.

Vern,
To help us get our heads around this what's on the other end of the cable that feeds the plug circled in yellow? What is it and how does it plug into the wall outlet?:

I think Mike may be onto something Vern, follow that cord to the end and see where it goes.
Tmcc, Cab1L and the Legacy 990 all require a wall plug. Not only does it provide power to operate, but 1 side of the Tmcc/Legacy signal is transmitted through the ground lug of the wall plug.

Mike & Rick: Well, whadaya know? There it is, plugged into the power strip. I should have remembered this long before now. But when we play with the trains, we just use the toe end of our shoe to flip on the floor power strip, without even thinking about what's plugged into it. Thanks guys, and again, I apologize for not being more "with it."
