I have a couple of 3rd Rail E7 B units that are unpowered. These are from the first and second runs. Were the E7 B units powered in the third run?
What about the E8 and E9 B units?

As far as I know they were powered in all runs. However, I have just looked at 2 rail.
On the first run, they B unit could run tethered to an A unit, it would not run alone - there was a plug connection.
The best way to get the most accurate answer is to email 3RD Rail directly. They usually answer within a working day.
In the past you could get a powered or unpowered B unit from 3rd Rail. All the current offerings on their web site, EA/E1, E6, and FA, only come with a powered B unit. My F3 from them has a powered B unit.

Scott made us fans aware since the FL9's there will be no unpowered units at there is hardly any costs savings at this time.
