Hello guys and gals.........

I purchased a new in the box black New Haven railking operating dump car few months ago and had to have some work done on it before its trouble free as so far it has been operating well.   The problem was that the hinge on both ends was sticky as the motor would raise the dump half way and then stick and I have to use my finger to touch it then it would fall down.   I took it apart to find out why and found that it was poorly assembled at the factory as one of the worker there used a mill file on the metal part of the hinge leaving rough surfaces thus causing the dump to stick half way up and not down from fiction so I took fine jewel's file to clean up the rough metal spots and add 2 thin washers to take up the slack (the dump body move sideways before the body is raised).  It took about hour of fine tuning it then dump body raises up and down very smoothly now.  I just think it's a well made cute car (after the reworked).  Guys, how did you like your dump cars and did you have trouble with yours and what you do to fix it ?

My dump cars work just fine. They operate very smoothly.  I am using Atlas track and the Atlas add on operating rails. It's sometimes a little fiddly to get the car lined up just right, but once lined up it functions perfectly. I don't think this is the fault of the dump car, more likely my train operating skills. I have not yet tried to improve this, as I plan to make some layout changes.
