I have one set of like new sprung  Athearn Bettendorf metal trucks that are excess to my needs (their deep flanges bounce through my code 148/125 cast frogs on my 2 rail layout).  Athearn metal wheels have deeper flanges than their  later production plastic trucks.  These may be a suitable compromise flange depth for some 3 rail layouts.  If interested contact me using the email address listed in my profile.  The price will be attractive.

Ed - that is a very generous offer.  The Athearn trucks might be the best- proportioned truck ever in O Scale, with the exception of the definitive work of Yoder and San Juan.  Note that the All-Nation version of the Bettendorf has asymmetrical triangular openings, although the A-N may be a better alloy.  Si Simonton used these trucks exclusively with Lobaugh wheelsets.

I did not respond because I have plenty of trucks, and others need to see how good these castings really were.  The Lionel 700 trucks are not quite as good, but the metal is better, and the coil springs more realistic.
