Hello.  This my first post.  Hopefully not my last!  I'm new to O gauge, having jumped in about 10 months ago after many years in N scale (which I still do) and a little HO.  I've been impressed by the advice I've seen handed out here and it's been both educational and it's saved me money (e.g. not buying a MTH Rail King Proto 1 Milwaukee Road 4-6-4 Hudson because I learned their drivers suffer from zinc rot).

I've got some questions about the the Atlas O 4-4-2 Atlantic that I hope people can answer.  I don't have one but I am considering getting one.
1.) My tightest (and most common) curves are MTH Real Trax O31 (which as you know is really a lot closer to O27).  Can the Atlas 4-4-2 go around them?
2.) I've read elsewhere in this forum that this loco is closer to S scale (1:64).  Can anyone please give me actual measurements of the loco's length, width, and height?  I know O27 isn't to scale but I am trying to buy stock that isn't wildly different in size so even if they aren't true 1:48, at least they are the same height and width and look okay together side-by-side.  Is the Atlas Atlantic close in "scale" to the MTH Rail King K4 4-6-2 Pacific?  I've found the RK stock I have has worked out to roughly 1:55 or so, at least height-wise.  Many thanks in advance for your help!

While I don't have specific dimensions, I have seen the Atlas O Atlantic firsthand and, in my opinion, it is much closer to 1:64 than 1:55.  It would look much more at home with an American Flyer Reading style Atlantic or perhaps more appropriately an AF K5 Pacific.

It is a very nice rendition of that class of locomotive, just small in proportion to its track gauge.

“Industrial Rail” is the clue. Atlas acquired that line of traditional size rolling stock and apparently wanted an engine to go with them. Actually Industrial Rail freight cars are step up from most traditional trains with better detail. Boxcars are same size as 6464s but with underbody detail.
