I have a pair of Atlas O 6029Comonwealth Express Trucks and all the info I can find simply states that these are made for "older" Atlas rolling stock. No definition of "older" is given. There is a fellow on eBay selling several Atlas cars of various types without trucks or couplers. Will my 6029s work on what appears to be "older" cars?

I suspect the "older" refers to the trucks with somewhat wide bolsters to accommodate three-rail wheelsets. The "newer" trucks have a narrower bolster (still accommodates three-rail) but looks closer to scale width on the car; no "clown shoes" as Joe F would say. I have a couple of the "newer" freight trucks and the narrower bolster makes a noticeable difference.

EDIT: Your trucks should fit with no problem.

Atlas O Commonwealth Express Trucks are supplied with medium length coupler shanks. My wood passenger car project (see my article in OGR Run 330) required long coupler shanks that I also got from Atlas O. Just thought I would mention it.
