According to my LHS the Atlas O coil cars are in the shop for delivery!! I can not wait to get my hands on these, as this is what I do for a living loading railroad cars & semis with steel coils. Talk about right at home!!

The Atlas 'O' coil cars look beautiful, but from your professional experience and knowledge are they prototypical?
Thank you,
Ralph-RJL
Hi Ralph,
I do not have one in front of me just yet, I am hoping to possibly pick them up from my LHS in the next couple of days. I did buy the Atlas HO version of one of these cars, and yes they are like the real cars. When I get my hands on the O gauge version I will post some comments on the forum about them.
Thanks, Jeff

What would NOT be prototypical? They looked awesome at O scale national!
They are based on the National Steel Car Covered Coil Cars.

the RAILCAR SHOW ROOM has the images of the NSC coil car that the Atlas O car is bassed upon.
It is a real car that is on the rails in large numbers today.

Thank you all, for the information.
