Has anyone on the forum turned the surface mounted Atlas turntable into a pit type turntable? If so please post your methods.

Seriously though, I could never get the rubber band drive of the atlas to stay on I hated it. I have no idea how you a uld possibly make that turntable into a pit type.
Terry,
I did not make mine into a pit but built up a wall around it to give the appearance of a pit. I'm having trouble figuring out how to post pictures on the Forum and if I can figure it out I'll do so. You probably should replace the rubber band with an O ring. I have the O ring model number from the hardware store at home if you need it. The O ring works very well without slippage. I don't think there is any way to make the Atlas look as good as the true pit models but it has worked well for me for minimal cost.

ekaz,
If you could post the o-ring model number when you get home it would be greatly appreciated.

Joe,
The O ring I bought is made by Danco Inc., Irving , TX. It is a 1-1/16 x 15/16 x 1/16 # 33 O ring. I think I bought them at the local Ace Hardware and the stock number is 35747B. There is a small chance tha we got them at Home Depot but most likely Ace Hardware. If you can't find them let me know and I'll try to find some here in Massachusetts for you.

Thanks Ed for the info for Joe, I was also wanting to get some of those.

Thank you for the information on the "O" ring you used. I'll check Ace first then try HD. Thanks for the offer to find them for me. I'll let you know how I do.
Joe
Ed,
You were right, Ace had the "O" rings. I grabbed 2 for now.
