I am installing Atlas O turntable on my layout (1st layout). Using AC power. What have you found successful as to volts for smooth operation? Thank you in advance. PK

The turntable motor works only on DC. If you try to power it with AC you may burn it out. I bought a inexpensive HO transformer at a swap meet and used it to power my table. I found out about 3-6 volts made for a good turntable speed. some have said 12 volts is ok also.

PS if you have only AC you need to do some things
1 . install a bridge rectifier to change the AC to DC
2. install a potentiometer or some other device to regulate the voltage.
Experts like Gunrunnerjohn can give you much better advice.

You have asked at least 5 questions in a row.
Many members have responded in a lot of detail to you and you have never went
back to acknowledge a single one of your questions to any of them ??????????

Thanks to all you post to my inquiries. I do appreciate your links and directions and suggestions. I am a newbie to computers and not computer savvy like most.

If you purchased the turntable new from Atlas it includes a rectifier circuit in the box, so you can use the AC.
