Doing a little dabbling in O scale, I see Atlas track made in Austria. Others have Made in Italy, is there a differance I need to know before I start picking some up?

The Atlas Austria track is the older Code 160 track that to my knowledge is no longer in production. It's pretty good and somewhat hard to find, but a lot of people still use it, including a few 3-railers I've met. I hadn't heard of any Atlas track made in Italy, but the current Atlas 2-rail track is made in China and is Code 148 rail. You can also get Micro Engineering Code 148 track through MicroMark and AM Hobbies.
