Tom,
Since you're new to the forum and your question is a little confusing, let me give you a brief lesson on AtlasO. AtlasO track, locomotives and rolling stock come in either 3R (traditional/Lionel) or 2R (Scale/DC). 3R track curves are measured in diameter and 2R track is meaured in Radius. For instance, O-36 3R track makes a circle 36" wide, while 36" 2R track makes a circle 72" wide. Both 3R and 2R are subcategories of O Gauge/Scale. By referencing O-27, O-72 and "3rail", I am going to assume you are talking about 3R. So to answer your question, yes, all AtlasO 3R track can be used together. The number following the O will give you the diameter of a full curve. Below is a picture of AtlasO track in O-27 (narrowist half curve), O-36, -O-45, O-54, O-63, and O-72 (widest half curve.) If you noticed, AtlasO provides a uniform 9" between track. In most cases, this provides adequate space between tracks so you may run them in parallel. Your minimum diameter you will use will depend upon space limitations and the size of rolling stock and locomotives. As a rule of thumb, O-36 is usually the smallest size curve suggested to be used with AtlasO products.
Here is a link to the AtlasO Track Catalogue in PDF. You can open it in a web browser, which may take a few minutes, or download it to view offline by right clicking the link and selecting "Save target as".
Now on to your question about AtlasO Gold series. The Gold series locomotives are 2R DCC equipped and will not run on 3R track. The most detailed AtlasO 3R locomotives are the Master Series.
All 3R locomtives and rolling stock will work on AtlasO track.
I've only scratched the surface, so if you have further questions, please send me an email stewartogr(at)yahoo(dot)com and I will help you out.
