Dave Koehler: that's a fine idea, adding interest as automobiles from the 'thirties to the 'fifties can be shown being unloaded. When you write, "last photos" do you mean the ramp was disassembled? destroyed? stolen? your son took it away from your layout?

Less seriously, where's the snow? There's plenty here in Southern Wisconsin.

This all started , when I picked up Mlw Rd  out side braced box car lettered automobile. needed a ramp to unload them!  Started a thread a few weeks ago, there was some great info on it , and a week ago  I posted build photo's  and this week couldn't find the thread!  So this one.       The  10' module Im working on  is part of the Milw. Rd. Northwoods line, Wausau / Merrill area, late 1920's to 1940/41.  I will post photo's when the structure is attached to the module.  And yes we got about 14' of snow were I live.    PS nocked off the loading  ramp twice now.

@Dave Koehler  That's a great looking scene you have there. Thanks for posting it!

I also remember that original missing thread.  If I recall correctly, in it there was also a great black and white video posted by @Mellow Hudson Mike showing how four 1920-30 something Buicks were unloaded from a box car onto the trackside dock.

Perhaps this book has been mentioned often before, but for convenience:

Wilson, Jeff. Railroading and the Automobile Industry. Guide to Industries Series. Kalmbach, 2019. ISBN 978-1-62700-528-9.

My thanks to Dave Koehler for this thread, to mwb for finding the first part, and to Steven H for calling attention to the old film with auto loading.
