What is the preferred power source for the tiu? I'm running aZ4000 to power the track and did have aZ1000 plugged into the tiu but wanted to take the Z1000 to run the track around the Christmas tree. Will a Z500 work well as auxiliary power for the tiu and does anyone have on for sale? Thanks

Z500 works fine. Plug and play.
I'll 2nd the Z500, My TIU has been powered by one from an MTH set for the last few years. Works great.

That's probably more power than you need, unless you're feeding 5 AIUs. You only need the brick. Wall warts or 15+/- volts, AC or DC, of 500ma or more would be adequate for a TIU with no AIUs.
