Wandering if the existing lights can be replaced with LED which would make them brighter & less heat so the existing sockets won't melt. If so, what the LED number would be & best place to obtain?

The backshop has gotten lots of bad reviews.... Might be worth starting a a backshop thread.
Hadn't heard of this one being an issue.
Smoke unit input being mislabeled, door jam, bad circuit board, metal 1/2 thickness it was supposed to be...
Don't know if you know of any other issues that I don't.. Please elaborate if you do!!
I am sure the lights can be replaced.. it'll matter if they have dc or ac. I think I saw an ad for led bulbs in traditional sockets in the last CTT I read. Dans Drum heads on ebay sells individual lights that can work with ac or dc. I am sure those could work for you as well
I bought mine brand new. Smoke unit has never worked. I worked on the doors for 4 hours till they worked. Wired LED's in the shop part and where the track is because the ones in it are not worth the effort. I wouldn't buy another one.
Huge foot print so I'll probably get rid of it at some time.

Knock on wood, mine works pretty well. I added additional lights by buying additional sockets, one in the office & one additional for the machinery & put the lights on a separate line from the backshop so they could be on all of the time & added tinted plexiglass so you could see the machiney working much better. See pic. Figured the LED's would be even brighter & would have to worry about the light sockets ever melting.

I added additional lights and machine sounds to mine. I do like the tinted plexiglass. I may go that route.
Would post details regarding the added lights and sounds?
Thanks,
ed
Would also like write ups for modifications and for the plexiglass. That is really nice!
Replaced the motherboard with one supplied by Lionel. Everything works as it should. Thanks for the advice. Next challenge is to add more LED lighting and sounds.
