I have heard rumblings about bandit meets in York this fall. Is this even a possibility? For the most part they are outdoor events. I’m suffering from Pre-York Depression Syndrome for the first time. It’s just too far away. It’s even gone through my mind driving to Atlanta, IN for Mr. Muffins train show Saturday (9 hour drive one way) . I would be willing to go to York for bandits meets. Has anyone else heard this rumor?

Do you really want to be around people who are not wearing a mask and if there is no change by the time these shows are supposed to happen the state will not let them go on. Besides its too early to start attending shows if there is no vaccine.

If they do happen do you really want to attend and put yourself in harms way concerning this virus.

While Mr. Muffin's layout is worth seeing, I don't see it and the small meet being worth a 9-hour drive unless you REALLY have a lot of spare time or can combine it with other things you'd like to do in the area or along the way.

Norton, I don't know what you are talking about.

Com'on Eddie. Even you have admit the Bandit meets are nothing like they were even two years ago. Half the tables inside the Holidome were empty and maybe a dozen vendors in the parking lot. Best Western and Billie Budd are gone and the Sherman St. Firehall had a 3rd of the tables empty.

Time to put away those rose colored glasses.

Pete,

I've seen advertisements for this meet in the past but never got the chance to go before this year; is it worth a visit from us who are "hi-railers"? I.e. how many vendors sell hi-rail items in addition to 2-rail and if so how would you describe the items (pre-war, post-war, modern legacy/dcs, brass)? Apologizes for the many questions.

I have not gone yet but have friends who do go. They said even though you won't find many if any three rail trains its an excellent place to get structures both in kit form and built up. If that is what you are looking for though, go early as these get snapped up.

John, I love the Strasburg 2-rail train meet.

As a 3-railer, I always find interesting and diverse components, structures, and detail parts you won't see anywhere else.

But I'm still looking for those scale giraffe cars at the show.

George
