Thank you gentlemen I like what you call tinplate because the HORNBY O gauge Trains
were clock work and you had a nice big shinny key to wind the train with,
you could pick the rolling stock up easy with it beining big and made of tin, it could take a bit of a crash and be OK not like what you call 2 Rail HO we know it as OO ie half of O it was plastic they did make some sets in clock work but in my day most of the HORNBY Train Sets were 12v DC Electric I do have a Clock work set from the 1960tys the loco is smaller in size but it's O gauge Tinplate the rails have seen better days but it runs fine on K Line or Lionel 3 Rail if you have a look at some of my you tube videos from our HORNBY Club you will see 3 different types of O Gauge My first sight of a USA Loco in O gauge was at the HORNBY Club
my wife Christine and I are fascinated by the size of the big boys and Challengers we do have a M T H Rail King Challenger among others but this is tinplate so I'll say no more
