I have discovered that I have a weakness for really cool fantasy paint schemes  currently being offered by Lionel.  It might be my wife's fault because several years ago when I was showing her one of my new steam engines she remarked "Great! Another BLACK engine".

Fast forward to last week - we had a chance to visit Mr Muffin's Trains and while viewing his wonderful layout, I spotted Lionel's new Pacemaker red and silver Mohawk steam engine sitting on a siding.   I liked this  engine when I first viewed it in their catalogue and even more when someone posted a video of it  running here on the forum.  I guess my being on vacation rationality took over and as you might guess, the beautiful red steam engine accompanied me home.  And it is a thing of beauty!

So, how can there be a dilemma you might ask.  Turns out that I have nothing to pull behind it.  It looks good sitting on the layout but as it turns out, I do not have any NYC rolling stock or a caboose.  I do have a set of Pullman heavyweights but it looks out of place pulling them.  Being back in the hobby as an adult for 47 years now, this is the first time I have boxed myself into a corner.  For the time being, I guess it will just be a shelf queen!

Any ideas?

Happy railroading,

Don
